I got my first Microsoft certificate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, on November 2020. This certificate is earned by passing the exam Exam AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator, and is initially valid for two years so it was time to recertify during this summer, or during autumn. This particular certificate was valid for recertification, which happens as an unproctored assessment taken online annually.
Mostly as a reminder to myself, some stats about this little endeavour:
- My current job revolves around AWS and Azure, so quite good amount of knowledge and practice was gained while working.
- To study the exam material, I skimmed the Udemy course which I took initially when doing the certification in 2020. The course AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Exam Certification 2021 was updated to reflect the current exam scope, at least for the most part.
- Without too much stressing out, I took the unproctored, free renewal assessment from home on this Sunday evening, and passed on the first try.
