I got my first AWS certificate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C01), on July 2019. Since AWS certificates are valid for three years, it was time to recertify during this summer, and since in the AWS world there is no such thing as “recertification”, in practice this meant to study for and sit the exam again.
Mostly as a reminder to myself, some stats about this little endeavour:
- My current job revolves around AWS and Azure, so quite good amount of knowledge and practice was gained while working.
- To study the exam material, I took a course on Udemy: Ultimate AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate 2022. Not the best course I have ever taken, but covered almost all topics required and was pretty good.
- I did a few practice exams: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Practice Exams. These were great to test my knowledge. The questions may have been a bit simplified versions of the real deal, but great practice nonetheless.
- I wrote notes during studying, which ended up being a total of 80 pages.
- I spent 49:02:01 hours for deliberate studying and practicing, spanning across the last 4 weeks.
- I took the remotely proctored exam from home.
- Exam taken: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02). Result: PASS
